First of all, a huge Merry Christmas to all my beautiful friends, family, and whoever is reading this post! I am amazed at how it is already Christmas, after having a rollercoaster of a year. Today I wanted to share with you my ‘Holiday Makeup’ which I will be wearing on Christmas Day & Boxing Day with the festivities. Stay tuned for heaps of posts this week to ring in the new year!
If you weren’t already aware I live in Queensland, Australia, meaning our Christmas is not very ‘traditional’. It is FAR from cold, there are chestnuts roasting on open fires (hello Fire Hazard for the summer heat), and wearing makeup is a risk. Of course it is one I am willing to take, and luckily for me I will be spending it mostly in air-conditioning, BLESS.
I like to put a focus on my base on special occasions, opting for a glowy, bronze look. Although there are plenty of products that I have used to achieve this look, I use them sparingly so as to keep it lightweight.
Starting off with the Glamglow Glowstarter Illuminating Moisturizer to add hydration to my dry skin (THIS SMELLS AMAZING, and is perfect to start with to perk you up!). Next I like to put my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer on areas such as my nose, chin, and the inner part of my cheeks, to smooth out imperfections. Even though it is incredibly hot, and will most likely obtain a natural glow (sweat) I like to put a strobing liquid on before foundation, for that LIT from within look. Finish it off with MAC Studio Fix Fluid & Pro Longwear Concealer, and you are good to go….for the base.
Before I powder I will use the contour shade out of this Covergirl TruBlend Palette, to sculpt my cheeks. Once I set everything with a powder (not pictured but knowing me most likely MAC Studio Fix Powder), I will bronze with NARS Laguna, and add a bit of blush. I love this one from BareMinerals called The Natural High as even though it comes across as pink in the photo, it is more of a warm peach.
To highlight I will use a mix of the three powder shades in the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette (I HAVE HIT PAN SO BAD), and then to take it that next level shit, I will add the Urban Decay Naked Illuminator in Luminous, while we are at it just throw that ALL over your body. GLOW FOR SANTA, GLOW.
For the eyes, I want to go for a golden-bronze look. I have two Makeup Geek eyeshadows in Latte and Petal Pusher to work in the crease and outer corner, and to deepen the outer V I will get a dark brown from either my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette.
I have recently dyed my hair black (after letting it fade for a few months) so I need to use the darkest brow product I have in my collection, which ATM is this duo from Rimmel. Finishing the look off with mascara, I have the L’Oreal Telescopic for length, and then the Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara for volume & keeping that shit in place in this 30+ degree heat.
That is a WRAP (I have been waiting all year to say that) on my Christmas Makeup. I opted for a nude lip, as I wanted to go down the Summery-bronze look rather than the classic Christmas Red lip. Head on over to my Instagram page to also check out the KILLER earrings I wore from Lovisa….I AM IN LOVE! x
Again, M E R R Y C H R I S T M A S!!!!
