Let it state on the record that I have forewarned said reader of the ridiculous amount of empties I have in this post…To be fair, I went a solid few months without blogging, so my empties bin kind of stock piled.
Starting off with makeup, I have a few base products that I went through in the last 3-5 months. The L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation was good initially, but after a few tests I noticed how cakey it made my skin look. Plus it was 2 shades still dark. Maybe I will retry a lighter shade if I can track one down! The Maybelline Fit Me Concealer has good coverage, I just WISH they would bring out a lighter shade, as I cannot make it work underneath my eyes. A foundation I really enjoyed was the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation but the 70 dollar price point kind of kills it for me.
The Too Faced Born This Way Foundation however, is really good coverage, and slightly cheaper by $20. I have since repurchased it (and used that one up too), but I need to get one of their new lightest shades!
Moving onto primers, it was definitely time to chuck out my L’Oreal Skin Perfection Blur Cream aftering having it for a good 2-3 years… I really loved the Mecca Cosmetica Hydrating Primer and definitely want to repurchase, but I wasn’t a fan of their Brightening Primer. I didn’t notice anything major with this Nude By Nature Airbrush Mineral Primer Sample. Ah, my very old Benefit Porefessional. This bad boy is a solid 3 years old…And I was still putting this on my face up to about 3 months ago..GROSS. I did like it, but I have so many others to go through right now!
MECCA MAX City Slicker Tinted Oil. I wanted this to be amazzzzing, especially for the upcoming summer, but I could NOT move myself past the god awful taste. It tastes like melted plastic. I can’t remember whether I liked the Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara, so probably not a future repurchase. I used up a mini and a full-sized Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, I just wish they upgraded the formula of this! It makes the lashes look BOMB AF, but it transfers and flakes like crazy 😦 Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil in shade 6 is honestly one of my all-time favourite brow products, and I definitely need to repurchase it! The Urban Decay Liquid Moondust in Solstice unfortunately came faulty for me when I purchase it a very long time ago, but I do have two other (non-faulty) shades and they work really well on my oily eyelids! My ColourPop Ultra Glossy Lip in Weho that I got off Ebony a LONG time ago, I loveeed. I really need to repurchase it too, as it is a very warm nude, which I love!
Last up with the makeup are some face powders including the Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder – A staple in many collections as well as the Australis Fresh & Flawless Powder x 2 which is such a good quality powder, I just wish they were a bit more pale friendly, as it can leave me looking a bit darker than my neck. I also have the Australis Ready Set Go Translucent Finishing Powder which was a total fail, being way too messy and chalky, as well as the Kat Von D Lock-It Powder Foundation which I actually really loved, but the shade I had was way too pink in undertone.
I TOLD YOU THERE WAS A LOT OF PRODUCTS
Moving away from makeup, I have some haircare & skincare pieces. Original Source is one of my favourite brands for body wash, with Lime being my favourite, but this Sweet Apple & Vanilla was just as delicious! This VO5 Heat Protectant Spray was okay, but I have heard their new version is 10 times better! A product I absolutely love, and have since repurchased, is the L’Oreal Magic Retouch! It works magic at covering up grey hairs (I’m 23 going on 80), as well as my ashy-blonde regrowth. It does feel powdery, and colour can transfer if you touch it, but more or less a good product! Batiste Dry Shampoo is something I tend to always have a bottle of, especially if its the Cherry scent! I would like to try the Klorane one though!
LUX Body Wash is another staple for me, as the scent is delicious and warm! I wasn’t a fan of this Sunsilk Conditioner, but as for the Tresemme, they are always a winner, although I do prefer the Keratin one over the Salon Silk.
Last but not least, four of my perfumes seemed to have run out all at the same time! Katy Perry Killer Queen is my all-time favourite, and I JUST repurchased a new bottle, now living in my handbag. With Love by Hilary Duff is no longer for sale, and this bottle I think I got when I was 13…so it is a decade old! It definitely started to go off, with the scent being similar to that of dead ants. I used to love Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift but my tastes have definitely changed since when I received this a few years back, however I still LOVE Rogue by Rihanna, and will definitely repurchase if I can find it anywhere!!
Again, I apologise for the ridiculous length of this post. I actually had to cut out two more photos worth of products (don’t worry, it was just random samples and nothing that would tickle your pickle) to make this even remotely okay.
