The amount of stuff I used up in the month of May actually astounds me! I feel like I did a solid effort to getting through a lot of products, particularly makeup bits and bobs. Keep reading to see what I rated and hated.
Schwarzkopf Extra Care Fibre Therapy Shampoo & Conditioner: This stuff smells amazing! It is very dark & warm in scent, which is right up my alley. I find I go through these bottles too quickly but I would definitely repurchase purely for how good it smells.
Lux Passionate Spell Body Wash: A running theme, that you will find, is that I LOVE things that smell good! I love these body washes, and have repurchased in the purple packaging.
Garnier Hydrabomb Tissue Mask – Green Tea: I plan on doing a full review post on these, but all i can say is, I am impressed. Stay tuned.
Mecca Cosmetica Happy Hands Hydrating Hand Cream: I believe this was a freebie from Mecca for my birthday last year. It is no longer sold as it is LE but Mecca continously release products like this such as the one you can find here. This sat on my desk at work and was quite loved. Wouldn’t so much as repurchase, but wouldn’t be mad if it ended up in my hands.
Formula 10.0.6 Overnight Spot Minimizing Patches: I rarely use these as I have this weird distaste for having things stuck to my body for long periods of time (patches, bandaids, tape, earings, etc), but they really do work at reducing breakouts. I still have a fair bit left to test out, but will probably try something different, such as a drying lotion, next.
The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter: I really should have chucked this out a year ago as it was definitely passed the recommended use by date, but I love the body butters from The Body Shop. My hands and feet are ALWAYS dry so having this on my bedside table is a must. Will repurchase, maybe in a new scent next!
Katy Perry Royal Revolution Perfume: The blue packaging is beautiful, but that’s about where it stops for me. I own Killer Queen ( the red bottle ) which is one of my favourite scents, but this just was a flop. Definitely won’t repurchase.
FINALLY some makeup empties! Sadly ALL my makeup runs out at the one flipping time.
MAC Studio Fix Powder in NW10: When I originally purchased this (legitimately maybe 1.5-2 years ago) I was gutted when it arrived as it was very pink toned. Even though it made my face look so pink, I kept using it as I WANTED to love it. If I was to repurchase, I think NC10 would be better suited to my skin tone.
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent: I spoke in my Project Pan post about how my friend gave me her Rimmel Stay Matte powder and I was excited to use it up as I owned it previously and use to enjoy it. Well, this is the old one I used to have. It had only a thin circle around the outside of product left, but smashed one day, so bye bye. Still forming my opinion as to whether I will continue to repurchase.
Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil: It was a sad sad day when this fella wouldn’t wind up anymore product. I remember wanting to crawl back in bed and call up my boss and have a personal leave day. It was devastating. I am currently testing out a new product (for a ¼ of the price) but I would hands down repurchase this, as the darkest shade is the perfect cool-toned black for me.
Chi Chi Chandelier Lips in The Glitterati: I decluttered this out of my drawers, as when I went to apply it and you could literally smell how off it was. Not to mention the colour is now an off-peach, instead of a clear white glitter. It was nice, but I have so many other glosses on rotation at the moment.
Chi Chi Brow Pomade in Black Brown: LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. Incredibly affordable, and will definitely repurchase!
Samples, samples, samples! Thanks to Mecca & Sephora for providing the goods.
Benefit Porefessional Instant Wipeout Masks: I am KICKING myself for doing this but I stupidly lost the directions for this mask, mid-pamper session, so I really didn’t get to experience the full-effect as I didn’t realise you have to flip it over and scrub your nose. Interested in giving it another go, so lets build those Sephora points back up baby!
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser: Again, completely wrong shade, but felt quite hydrating.
Verso Hand Serum: As the name suggests, this was a serum/oil product as opposed to a generic hand cream, and although it felt quite nice, there is no way this lady can afford to cash out $80 bucks on a hand product, NO MATTER how dry my hands are.
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment: Silly old me received this like a solid 9 months ago and never used it, and when i opened the packet in the shower I said “nope”. I was not putting it on my face. Definitely expired.
Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint: Ivory my ass. Finally a sample targeted for my pale ass skin, and this was just a big flat out nope. It was very thin, as you would expect with a skin tint, so probably more suited to test out a lighter shade in the summer!
Malin+Goetz Grapefruit Face Cleanser: This was okay. Nothing special. But wasn’t bad. I just don’t think I would be willing to fork out the cash for a meh product.
That is it for May! A fair bit of stuff was used up which always makes me feel like I am productive! How much did you use up last month?
